Princess Marie attends a concert at Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen

Yesterday, Princess Marie attended a spring concert hosted by the Barndrøm Association (Childhood Association)  at Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen.

The Barndrøm Association was founded in 2011, and works, among other things, to expand children’s and young people’s worldview and help them meet their potentials through art and culture.

Princess Marie was joined by the French ambassador to Denmark, François Zimeray. He made a short speech before the concert began.

The performers were Philippe Benjamin Skow (violinist), Tanja Zapolski (pianist), Kirsten Olesen (actor), The Child and Youth Orchestra Zapolski Strygerne v / Alexandre Zapolski and Jens-Christian Wandt (opera singer). They performed works from Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Fauré, Nielsen and Tchaikovsky and the guests also heard adventures from H.C Andersen. Princess Marie seemed to truly enjoy the show.

The ticket revenue goes to the Barndrøm Association’s work on art and cultural activities for vulnerable children and young people.

After the concert, Princess Marie had the opportunity to greet the 50 children and young people who had taken part in the show.

For this concert, Princess Marie wore the Hugo Boss ‘ Kasima’ dress she first wore in April 2017 when she received the Légion d’Honneur. She has worn it several times since.

She carried an old UFO clutch, first worn at the Opening of Parliament in 2013, and she wore new Zara pumps ( found by Cecile!). The burgundy pumps are made of satin and they have a contrasting red heel. They are still available at €39.95 here.

Marie chose to wear one of her favorite brooches, I believe it belongs to the family vault. She also wore her Christine Hvelplund bracelet.

We’ll next see Princess Marie on April 30, when she’ll visit the GeoPark Children’s Art Project.
