“Recycling will save the world” says Prince Nikolai in Vogue Ukraine’s interview

As announced last week, Prince Nikolai is on the cover on Vogue Ukraine’s Men Spring 2019 Issue. Here is a translation of his interview where he gives facts about himself:

The cover star of Vogue Man, the face of the Dior Men advertising campaign and the sixth in line for the Danish throne, 19-year-old Prince Nikolai talks about himself.

To begin with, I don’t know what it is like to be someone else, not a member of the royal family. I had a special, one might say privileged, childhood – and I really appreciate it. Now I live a normal, very pleasant life. The only thing is that I will always be recognized everywhere.

I am a relaxed guy, like most people of my age. Open, down to earth, I like to have fun.

I have no obligatory daily classes, except prayer before bedtime.

I never dreamed of being a model – the offer to try was a surprise for me, but now this is a job that I appreciate. I was lucky: on my model path I came across only good people. This is an exciting industry, which makes it possible to travel and meet different people from the world, which, if I were not a model, would be closed to me.

Recycling will save the world. In my family, bottles are sorted for further processing, we save water and try to consciously approach the consumption of food.

My favorite dish is duck confit, and the cuisine is Chinese.

Few people know that I can cook a fantastic creme brulee.

My favorite piece of clothing is a velvet tuxedo.

My favorite director is Christopher Nolan, each of his films is a work of art, I rewatch everything several times. My favorite is Interstellar.

Traveling is one of the most interesting things in life. This year I want to go to Indonesia and Singapore.

For me, love is a collection of so many things, but in short, it is joy, happiness and passion.

Dream number one on my list is to make a name for myself. I am very pleased with what I have already managed, and I can only hope that my future will be as good.

Thanks to @prinsnikolaidior for the heads up! Please, credit me if you use the translation
