Since Prince Joachim and Princess Marie don’t have any events planned until Queen Margrethe’s birthday on the 16th, let’s take a look at Princess Marie’s foreign orders.

Belgium :Dame Grand Cross of the Order of Leopold II

Princess Marie received this order during the Belgian state visit in 2017. She first wore the order during the gala dinner.

Finland:Grand Cross of the Order of the White Rose

Princess Marie received this order during the Finnish state visit in 2013. She first wore the order during the gala dinner.

France: Grand Officer of the Order of the Legion of Honour

Princess Marie received this order in April 2017. It was given to her by the French Ambassador to Denmark on behalf of the French President. She wore the Cross of the Order during the gala dinner of the French state visit to Denmark in 2018 and she also wore the pin of the order during the state visit and during an event in France in March 2019.

Greece: Dame Grand Cross of the Order of Beneficence

Princess Marie received this order during the Greek state visit in 2009. However, Princess Marie did not take part in this state visit so we have not seen her wear this order.

Norway: Dame Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Olav

Princess Marie received this order in 2014 but there hadn’t been a state visit from Norway in a long time so I’m not sure how she received it. But in 2014, Crown Princess Mette-Marit received the Order of the Elephant so I imagine this is connected. Princess Marie hasn’t worn the Norwegian order yet.
