Ahead of the release of the cookbook “Food with respect” on November 5th, learn more about Princess Marie’s work in the fight against food waste, her work with the Stop Wasting Food Movement and her work as Patron of DanChurchAid in a series of posts that will be posted throughout the coming week! Here is a recap of her events related to the fight against food waste since 2016:
2019
On May 10th, Princess Marie opened a food festival in Maribo. Madens Folkemøde is a new food festival focusing on food culture through talks, debates, a local food market, workshops, children’s activities and much more.
2018
On January 8th, Princess Marie met with Andrew Steeler , the President and CEO of the World Resources Institutes to talk about the fight against food waste and how Denmark was involved in it in Washington D.C.
On January 18th, Princess Marie hosts ten children in her home of Klampenborg to teach them about food waste.
On April 10th, Princess Marie attended the launch of new teaching material to fight against food waste. She also took part in the launching video.


On August 9th, Princess Marie opened the new Too Good To Go store.

On August 24th, Princess Marie officially opened the Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival of which she is Patron. The Festival was focusing on food waste this year.
On August 27th, Princess Marie gave an interview to Aftenshowet to speak about the fight against food waste.

On August 30th, Princess Marie opened the Better Food for More People – World Food Summit 2018.

On November 13th, Princess Marie attended the Stop Wasting Food dinner. This dinner will become an annual tradition.
2017
On August 17th, Princess Marie officially opened the Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival as Patron.
On August 20th, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attended a gastronomic summit linked to the Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival.
On August 24th, Princess Marie attended the Better Food for More People – World Food Summit as Patron.
She also attended the official reception for the summit in the evening.
She also took over magazine Samvirke‘s instagram account for the day to share her engagement in the fight against food waste.

In November, Princess Marie gave two interviews to a Brazilian TV Channel and a French TV Channel about the fight against food waste.

2016
On February 22nd, Princess Marie was on hand to officially open the WeFood store in Copenhagen with Selina Juul.
On August 22nd, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie visited the Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival
On August 25th, Princess Marie attended the official dinner of the Better Food for More People – World Food Summit
On November 23rd, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attended a charity dinner focusing on food waste.
