The international Stop Wasting Food Dinner was hosted by Selina Juul and the Ambassador of Sweden to Denmark Fredrik Jörgensen to support the fight against food waste. In addition to Princess Marie, guests included high-level leaders from organizations and businesses. This dinner has now become an annual tradition with a different embassy hosting each year.

Last night’s menu was made from surplus food, prepared by the very well-known Swedish chef Erik Andersson from the Spill restaurant in Malmö, which has a major focus on food waste. The Danish celebrity chef Timm Vladimir provided sustainable canapés made from surplus raw materials from TorvehallerneKBH. The food for the dinner itself was surplus raw materials from Sweden, provided by the restaurant Spill in Malmö.

About hosting the dinner, the Ambassador of Sweden to Denmark said: ”Selina Juul and the Stop Wasting Food movement perform an amazing and inspiring work that has received a lot of attention both in Denmark and internationally. Food waste reduction is a simple act for the environment that anyone can be a part of. It is also fully in line with Agenda 2030 and the UN’s Global Sustainability Goals, which the Swedish Government is giving high priority. I am delighted and proud to arrange this dinner with Selina and help to bring focus on this important issue.”

About the dinner, Selina Juul said: “I am really pleased that the Annual International Stop Wasting Food Dinner has become an annual tradition – and I am grateful that Ambassador of Sweden to Denmark H.E. Fredrik Jörgensen and the Embassy of Sweden in Copenhagen are hosting our joint Dinner. It is also amazing for the cause that Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark is yet again attending as the guest of honor at our Dinner. It shows that this important agenda has really gained a strong momentum.”

She wore her Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ black glitter pumps with her Naledi Copenhagen purple clutch.

She also wore her Christine Hvelplund drop earrings and the ring she debuted last month in Paris.

  1. This is a wonderful initiative. The Princess is getting right behind it and her support I think will make a difference. She looks lovely in this dress, but I am not a fan of the hemline. Love the coordination of handbag and colours in her dress, her shoes I love. Hair looked so soft and flowing, very becoming
