Sidaction is a French association that aims to fight HIV/AIDS and help the people with HIV/AIDS in France. It is the French equivalent of the AIDS Fondet in Denmark of which Princess Marie is Patron. Charles-Henri Keller attended the event with them.Embed from Getty Images
This gala dinner is held each year since 2003 in collaboration with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and it closes the Paris Couture Fashion Week. It aims to raise funds, raise awareness and show the unwavering commitment of the fashion world to the fight against AIDS.Embed from Getty Images
This year’s dinner was held for the first time at the Pavillon Cambon and the menu was made by Amandine Chaignot – the chef of the Pouliche restaurant- and Christelle Brua, pastry chef at the Palais de l’Elysée and best restaurant pastry chef in the world in 2018. In 2019, the gala dinner helped raise more than 650 000€ and this year, they raised 780 000€.Embed from Getty Images
On the red carpet, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie posed with French actress and Vice-President of Sidaction Line Renaud (who later sit next to Princess Marie inside the venue), French singer and Sidaction Ambassador Pascal Obispo and his wife as well as Sidaction President and Nobel Prize laureate for helping discovering HIV Francoise Barre-Sinoussi.Embed from Getty Images
Line Renaud posted a photo with Prince Joachim and Princess Marie on her Instagram account with this touching message: « Thank you all for your support, for your presence, in this fight that hasn’t been won yet. We shall not forget it. Your support is so important so that one day, the V of Virus becomes the V of Victory. »
Marie wore a fully repeated outfit for the dinner. She wore an old UFO jacket that she first wore in 2011 with the Ole Yde gown she wore at Princess Madeleine of Sweden’s pre-wedding dinner in 2013.Embed from Getty Images
She paired the outfit with an old UFO clutch, her favorite Christine Hvelplund earrings, her garnet and diamond ring and her Michael Kors burgundy suede sandals.
UPDATE: On January 22nd, Princess Marie attended Jean Paul Gaultier’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2020 show in Paris. It was Jean Paul Gaultier’s last fashion show after 50 years in fashion so it was quite the place to be in Paris yesterday. I can’t post the photos in this post but you can see them here. Marie wore a repeated jacket with her Michael Kors top and repeated trousers. I think her black pumps are probably her Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pumps. She wore her blue topaz ring and carried a new clutch.
In case you missed it, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attended another Parisian event last week. There are no photos I can use on the blog but you can see them here. She wore a repeated velvet suit with a new Bottega Veneta clutch.
