Today, Princess Marie ended her trip to Uganda as Patron of DanChurchAid. Read more below.

Princess Marie had one last official event today to conclude her trip to Uganda as Patron of DanChurchAid. She had a meeting with the Uganda Women Network. DanChurchAid works with the Uganda Women’s Network to provide education for women with the aim of educating and supporting women’s opportunities to participate in both local and national political work.
After the event, Princess Marie joined DCA Country Manager in Uganda Peter Bo Larsen for a small press conference where Larsen joked this trip had shown that Princess Marie was a much better dancer than him. About her trip, Princess Marie said: “This is a very welcoming country. People are very kind.[…] I’ve met very very strong and inspiring women. That really touched me a lot. […] Climate change is all around the world you know, it’s affecting everybody. The only thing I can tell you is, coming here I really saw the impact, especially for the farmers. You never know when it’s going to rain, you can’t know when you harvest, you can’t plan anything. This is a matter of life and death, you need to be able to eat. I think this is a problem all around the world, but here it’s a problem that we need to address today.”

Before ending the trip, she also gave short interviews to Trine Larsen (for Billed-Bladet) and Silla Ballakus (for BT) who followed her during the whole trip. She said that she missed her children but that she had been in touch with them and that she was worried about the Coronavirus she had heard from Denmark and France. She said that she had received a nice text from her son Prince Henrik saying : “I hope you are well, mom” which made her very happy but also made her miss them more. When asked if she had an answer to the question of whether or not her family would come back to Denmark after the summer she said: “I haven’t.” BT will release their full interview with Princess Marie tomorrow so I will post a translation in another post tomorrow.
Princess Marie wore a repeated white shirt and a repeated printed skirt with her Rolex watch and Christine Hvelplund Alphabet necklace. Her earrings are still UFOs but she first wore them in December 2018.
