Today, Princess Marie attended the monthly meeting of DanChurchAid as Patron this morning where she addressed the organisation’s employees all around the world. Read more below.
Princess Marie is Patron of DanChurchAid since 2011. The organization supports the world’s poorest in their fight for a dignified life and helps people in need. DanChurchAid provides emergency relief in disaster-stricken areas and long-term development aid in poor areas to create a more equal and sustainable world. This morning, Princess Marie attended their monthly meeting where she addressed the organization’s 730 employees around the world.
On the importance of the Princess’ work as patron and participation in the morning meeting, Secretary General Birgitte Qvist-Sørensen says: “We are incredibly happy and proud of the Princess’ work as a patron of DanChurchAid. The princess is sincerely and professionally committed to the world and to our work. I feel this clearly when she visits our programs in Africa and Asia. And we all feel it when she sets aside time to attend our monthly morning meeting. It should not be underestimated that this is a great recognition of the employees’ work. ”
Princess Marie made a speech in English where she recalled her experiences and impressions from her recent work trip for DanChurchAid to Uganda in March. You can watch her speech below.
During the meeting, challenges caused by COVID-19 in refugee camps were discussed. Representatives of DanChurchAid’s youth department NOW told about their emergency bingo events in Denmark, which at the same time inform and create income. Staff from Ethiopia and Mali also talked about their work in the countries.
Princess Marie wore her white Zara jacket she first wore in 2013 with a black top and black trousers.
She carried her TOD’s bag and I believe she is probably wearing her Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ black suede pumps.
She also wore her Christine Hvelplund ‘A&H’ necklace, her Van Cleef & Arpels necklace and her Rolex watch.

I listened to Marie’s entire speech. It was so nice to hear her speak a language I understand. She seemed very comfortable speaking and I enjoyed hearing about the projects she visited, especially using waste for fuel with less pollution. There was a very real sweetness about her that I could feel in the way she spoke. Thank you for sharing her speech in your post. I think Marie looks fantastic in black and white!
