Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attend D-Day ceremonies in France

This weekend, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attended several D-Day ceremonies in France. Read more below.

Prince Joachim is the Defense Attaché for Denmark in France and as such he took part in several ceremonies marking D-Day in France and he was joined by Princess Marie.

On June 5th, the couple attended a ceremony at Utah Beach that was presided by the Prefect of the Manche departement and the Ambassador of Denmark in France.

On June 6th, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie first attended a Franco-Danish ceremony of remembrance at the Danish wartime sailors monument near Utah Beach. Prince Joachim laid a wreath and Princess Marie paid her respect.

Then, they attended the ceremony marking D-Day at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and the international ceremony at Omaha Beach.

On June 5th, Princess Marie wore a black blazer which could be her Giorgio Armani one with her Ganni skirt and repeated black pumps. She also wore the pin of her Légion d’Honneur, the highest French order.

On June 6th, Princess Marie wore a new dress by Gerard Darel with the same black blazer and repeated black pumps as the day before. She also carried her YSL green clutch and wore the pin of her Légion d’Honneur.
