The Stéphane Bern – Institut de France foundation awards two prizes each year since 2016 to encourage the protection of heritage by financing education projects and sharing knowledge about history. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie had already attended the 2020 ceremony.
This year, the History prize (5000€) was awarded to Jean-Baptiste Bilger for his book “Chamfort ou La Subversion de la morale” and the Heritage prize (25000€) was awarded to Maisons Paysannes de France for their collaborative wiki project which is the first online encyclopedia about rural architecture in France.
French First Lady Brigitte Macron handed out the Heritage prize while Prince Joachim handed out the History prize.
Princess Marie wore her By Malene Birger dress with repeated black pumps.
She also wore her Van Cleef & Arpels earrings and necklace.
