Today, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Prince Henrik, and Princess Athena attended the premiere of LEGO Movie 2 in Copenhagen.
In 2017, Princess Marie, Prince Henrik, and Princess Athena had already attended the premiere of the LEGO Batman movie with Princess Marie’s father Alain Cavallier.
Princess Marie wore a new Goat Fashion coat. It is the Redgrave coat in nude and she already owns it in navy. She wore a white top, black pants, and a old ufo black clutch.
She also wore a new Charlotte Sparre scarf and her favorite Sergio Rossi shoes.
Princess Athena looked very cute wearing a new Petit Bateau dress with her favorite Zara coat. It is the third time we saw her wearing this coat since December 24th, 2018.
Princess Marie has an event tomorrow. She will visit Nordea who employs autistic workers.
The Court announced today that Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Prince Henrik, and Princess Athena will move to Paris, France this summer until Summer 2020 since Prince Joachim will follow a military training for a year. Here is the full press release:
The French Defense Minister has invited His Royal Highness Prince Joachim to attend France’s highest-ranking military training course. For that reason, Prince Joachim and Her Royal Highness Princess Marie and the couple’s two children, Prince Henry and Princess Athena, move to Paris.
From September this year to summer 2020, Prince Joachim will follow France’s highest-ranking military management training. The French Defense Minister invited the Prince to participate in the education following the French state visit to Denmark last year, where one of the main themes was strategic partnerships within bilateral business, cultural and defense areas. The Prince is the first Danish officer to participate in the education.
The training takes place six days a week, takes place at École Militaire in Paris and consists of two parts, which are held at the Center des Hautes Études Militaires (CHEM) and the Institut des Hautes Études de la Defense Nationale (IHEDN) respectively.
The majority of the studies are conducted at CHEM and consist of high-level interim studies. The program is for 30 selected officers with colonel or commander rank, and the main topics are military strategic management and international relations. Participants come mainly from France, but some come from countries that are among France’s strategic partners.
The military studies are supplemented by IHEDN with teaching in strategic management and public administration. In this part, another group of 70 business leaders, parliamentarians and officials and representatives of the media world participate. Here, international relations within trade, politics, culture and military disciplines are discussed and discussed, just as crisis management and exchange of experience are among the program items.
Continuing education in France supplements Prince Joachim’s current work in the Armed Forces, where since the Prince has been the chief of defense’s special experts in relation to the reserve in the total strength concept.
Prince Joachim and the family will move to Paris this summer.
The stay in France entails no changes to the couple’s relations with their patronage and collaborators.
Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, and their children traditionally spend the month of July in Cayx, France.
Prince Joachim is a member of the FIA and makes regular trips to Paris to attend their meetings and Princess Marie is Patron of the Danish Student House in Paris. Prince Henrik also had several French patronages that haven’t been handed out yet so maybe this would be a good opportunity to hand them out now.
The post will be updated if we have more info.
This year, Queen Margrethe spends Christmas with her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren in Marselisborg Palace in Aarhus. It is the family’s first Christmas without Prince Henrik so it made sense that the whole family would be reunited. It was even better since Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix were spending the holidays with their father as they alternate between their father and their mother. (They spent Christmas with Countess Alexandra last year and Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Prince Henrik, and Princess Athena spent Christmas in France with Marie’s family)
As they usually do when spending Christmas at Marselisborg, the family attends two church services. On the 24th, the whole family attended the Christmas Eve service. In previous years, Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik would arrive in one car, then Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, and their children would follow in another car and Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, and their children would arrive in a third car. They followed the same pattern this time but with one change: Prince Felix and little Prince Henrik went to the church in Queen Margrethe’s car so that she would not be alone on the ride from the Palace to the church.
On the 25th, Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, and Princess Marie attended the Christmas Day service. Crown Prince Frederik left early as he does not take part in the Communion, just like his father didn’t.
Princess Marie wore recycled outfits to both services. She debuted the red coat to the same Christmas Eve service back in 2013 but it is still ufo. She wore the coat with her black Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pumps.
For the Christmas Day service, she wore the Baum und Pferdgarten coat she debuted on December 1st and her navy Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ suede pumps.
On the 24th, Princess Athena wore a new coat by Zara.
We won’t see the Danish royal family until January 1st when they’ll attend the traditional New Year Gala Dinner. Queen Margrethe will make her annual speech on New Year’s Eve.
Today, Princess Marie, Prince Joachim and their kids, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena visited Tonder Festival.
The Tonder Festival is a well-known folk music festival in Europe. The festival was founded in 1975 and Marie is Patron since 2009. She has attended every year since then, except for last year’s edition as she had to pull out because of Nikolai’s 18th birthday. Since 2013, Joachim, Henrik, and Athena join Marie at the event. Next year will be Marie’s 10th visit to the Festival as Patron and she said that there might a special event to commemorate this: “I do not know. Perhaps something special must happen. I enjoy being here”
The family had a busy program for this year’s visit. After the official welcome, they visited the new children area. Prince Henrik and Princess Athena were pleased with all the new activities and they asked to stay for longer than planned so the family had to miss their next event, a visit to the Wadden Sea.
Afterward, they attended Vishtèn’s show. Prince Henrik and Princess Athena were sat on the shoulders of Prince Joachim and mayor Henrik Frandsen, respectively, just like in 2016.
Before heading backstage to enjoy drinks and food as well as some private time, Princess Marie talked to the reporters about the development of the Festival since her first visit back in 2009: “A big development, I think. Now it’s bigger and it gets bigger and bigger. There are a lot of different activities for children too. They have actually gotten a whole new area here for children and families. And there are really many places to eat and have fun. And more and more musicians come from all over the world. From Ireland, USA, Canada and they are really skilled. It’s really a pleasure to be here.”
You can see more photos here.
For this fun family outing, Princess Marie wore a new Charlotte Sparre blouse. The white Sea Life blouse is available here for 206€ (on sale). She paired the top with a new Uniqlo jacket and jeans.
She wore her Chanel ballet flats ( which she already wore when she visited the festival in 2014 and in 2016) and a new black Longchamp bag.
Princess Athena wore a cute Kaporal ‘Faza’ jacket. The jacket is reversible and can be worn in grey or in floral print.
We’ll next see Prince Joachim and Princess Marie on August 28th when they take part in the first day of the French State Visit to Denmark.
