Yesterday, Princess Marie attended the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Lecturer’s Order at the University of Copenhagen. The Lecturer’s Order is an order for Danish professors who teach the danish language and the danish culture to students abroad.
Princess Marie opened the event with a speech. Other guests included Anne Knudsen, author Jens Christian Grondahl and a formed danish lecturer in Poland as well as translators, Danish students, business leaders and the students of the University of Copenhagen. At 18:30 , Princess Marie was at the BHV Marais to officially launch the Danish Christmas Month and the Christmas Lights.
BHV Marais was founded in 1856 and was a flea market at first and BHV decided to expand in other cities in France in 1964. From there , the ‘Flea Market of Town Hall’ became BHV Marais one of the biggest department stores in Paris.
In her speech Marie said that this was a special day for her as her new country and her old country were uniting to celebrate Christmas together. She also said that a Danish Christmas was : ” special and magical. ” and that Danes can’t imagine Christmas without “candles, hot chocolates and decorations made with the kids”. She also said she hoped the visitors will love the Danish way of celebrating Christmas as much as she does. You can read her speech here.
She then pushed the button and the BHV Marais lit with Danish colors ! You can see a video here.
Princess Marie and the hosts then posed in front of the new shop windows.

Yesterday, the Danish Royal Family , without Prince Henrik, attended the official Opening of Parliament in Copenhagen.
It takes place each year on the first Tuesday of October in the Parliament at Christianborg Palace. The family has a passive role in this opening, hence the usual lack of photos.
Here is a video of the family’s arrival :
Princess Marie wore a new nude/light pink coat with an old dress that she first wore at the Opening of Parliament in 2014 . The coat is from Reiss and was found by Alina !
Marie wore her grey Gianvito Rossi pumps first worn in December 2015 with an old UFO clutch from 2010 (also debuted at the Opening of Parliament) and her daisy brooch. I don’t know the brand of the hat but it was first worn in 2014 at the Opening of Parliament, with the same dress.
