Today, Princess Marie, as Patron of AIDS-Fondet, attended an event in honor of World AIDS Day.
Each year, candles are lit in honor of those who lost their lives because of HIV. This event was created in 1994 by the Positive Group. The Positive Group offers support for people infected by HIV.
As Patron, Marie also received a very special donation from MAC. MAC’s campaign Viva Glam Lipstick raised 802000DKK (=$121,627) The campaign was created by the MAC Aids Fund in 1994: “Created in 1994, the passionate red VIVA GLAM Lipstick raised money and awareness for HIV/AIDS at a time when the pandemic was dramatically affecting fashion communities in particular as well as the wider world. Then and today, an unprecedented 100% of the purchase price of any VIVA GLAM product goes toward the M·A·C AIDS Fund “
Princess Marie is Patron of AIDS-Fondet since December 1st, 2012. She attends a number of events with AIDS-Fondet each year, including the annual AIDS-Fondet’s Christmas concert. However, she didn’t attend this year’s concert as she spent last weekend at Schackenborg Castle with Prince Joachim and their four children and family friends including Britt and Oskar Siesbye.
You can read the interview Princess Marie gave to Out & About on World Aids Day last year here.
Princess Marie wore a new Baum und Pferdgarten coat (with thanks to Cecile). The ‘Damara’ coat “features a double-breasted silhouette with notched lapels and front flap pockets.”
It comes from the Resort 2019 collection.
Princess Marie debuted new trousers and after looking for them for several hours, I believe they are from Peserico, Marie’s new favorite Italian brand! They are the Tailored Cropped trousers with silk inserts and they are sold out.
Princess Marie paired the outfit with a black turtleneck and her Joseph ‘Frida’ ankle boots which she debuted last October.
We’ll next see Marie on Tuesday when she’ll attend DanChuchAid’s Christmas festivities as Patron.
Today, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were in Fredericia to attend ceremonies commemorating Flag Day. Flag Day takes place on September 5th each year and honors those who have served for Denmark and every year between 2011 and 2016, either the Crown Prince Couple or Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attended the ceremonies in Copenhagen. However, since last year, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attend the ceremonies in Copenhagen while Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attend the ceremonies in another city.
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie first visited Ryes Kaserne were they were received by Colonel Soren Andersen. There, they took part in a wreath-laying ceremony.
Afterward, they attended a service at St Michaelis Church before attending a military parade.
In the afternoon, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were received at Meldahls Town Hall where they met representatives from a shelter for veterans.
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie then walked from the Town Hall to Klojhuset. This walk gave them the opportunity to meet with the crowd waiting for them.
In Klojhuset, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie took part in a lunch with veterans where one local veteran held a speech.
For the first time, Prince Nikolai also took part in the Flag Day ceremonies. Indeed, Prince Nikolai is now a student at Haerens Sergentskole in Varde and the school also had its own ceremony to commemorate the day.
For these somber ceremonies, Princess Marie wore her Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 jacket with a new white printed dress from Peserico, an Italian brand (with thanks to an anonymous reader). This jacket is her “funeral” jacket as she only wears it to attend somber events or funerals. The last time she wore it was for Prince Henrik’s funeral.
She paired the outfit with her new favorite combo: her Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ black suede pumps and her Carlend Copenhagen ‘Aicha’ clutch. She wore the same accessories in Odense yesterday. Her earrings and her fascinator are old but sadly I don’t have any IDs for them.
We’ll next see Princess Marie on Saturday when she’ll attend a DEMA event in Grasten.
